### Class of 2015

A.G, CC and CH all talked about having the same denominator.  A.G started talking about adding 1/2
and 2/10.  This is a good example, go back and read what A.G. said about 1/2 and 2/10.  If we need the same denominator how do you get the same denominator?

What do you know about multiplying fractions? How would you solve 1/5 x 1/2

One person said that we do not need the same denominator when multiplying.  If we do not need the same denominator what happens to the pieces?
E.L.V It is a good strategy to multiply the denominators and numerators.  Do you know why it works?
Nicolas, Are you talking about addition or multiplication when you said that they will not be equal? You are right whatever you multiply the denominator you must multiply the numerator when you are adding and subtracting.
Iliana,  Does it matter which fraction you put in the array first when you multiply?
Irene, Which fraction would you put in the array first when you are multiplying?  Does it matter?
Nicolas, I was able to follow your steps.  So, you draw a rectangle and cut it in half because your first fraction is ½ and the denominator tells you to cut it in half.  Then your second fraction is 1/5 and the denominator tells you to cut each ½ into 5 parts and shade in only one part, so you end up with 10 parts and one is shaded in.  Does that sound right?
Irene and Iliana,  Both of you said that you would change a fraction sometimes when adding.  How would you know when they need to change?

1. the burger king owns the bacon the bacon owns the solder and the solder owns the zombie sadly the bacon was around the fire place and then the solder and the zombie ate him

33. what i know about adding and subtracting fraction is to make the problum easer is the make the denominator the same and then adding and subtracting: C.P.

34. what i know about adding and subtracting fraction is to make the problum easer is the make the denominator the same and then adding and subtracting: C.P.

35. how i woude slove one fith times one hafe is one tenth: C.P.

36. whats 9+10 anyone? M.H

37. My b day is on feb.16 🎉 L.P.

38. Mrs. Edgerton is the Bessssst as a teacher ✂📕📗📘📙📓📔📒📚•﹏• *^▁^* *^O^*

39. LOL *^O^*

40. that when you add or subtract frations you have to make the dinomarators the same and the first dinomarator get the same number you can add or subtract

41. when you add or subtract you are suppose to have the same denominator.

42. what I know about multiplying fractions is that you don't need to have the same denominator .

43. the dinomartor have to be the same so you can add them or subtract them both a.g

44. 1/5 and 2/10 are multipals of tenso you will multiplay them both a.g

1. were not in math a.g ;) N.M

46. i know about subtracting and adding is that when your subtracting the denominator has to be the same that way you can get the sum of the fraction it also go with adding about getting the answer by getting the denominator the sameto get the product

47. when you want to add fractions you do not add the denominator. C.C

48. what I know about adding and subtracting fractions is they have to be the same denominator to add or subtract g.a

49. 🙌😸👌👍👏👓🌼🌻🌹🌸 maestra edgerton es la mejor !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!= 0 0 best 7 ; 0 : ) best *

50. why is everyone talking about math #math? ;]

51. what I know about adding and subtracting fractions is that some times you have to change the denominators to be the same than it will be easy to add and subtract
Irene N.

52. What I know about adding fractions is that sometimes you have to change the denominator to make it easier to add and subtract.
Iliana M.

53. using an array for 1/5 x 1/2 would help you alot, because you draw in 1/2 first and your denominator is 2, so your numerator is 1 so its 1/2 but then do 1/5 side ways so when you count all them you'll find that the denominator is 10 and 1/5 you shade in 1 and your shaded in part would still be 1 and its 1/10 and 1/5 x 1/2 is 1/10 so thats how you can multiply fractions. Nicolas ;)

54. what i know about subtracting and adding fractions that they have to have the same denominator to subtract or add with them, or you have keep multiplying the denominators until they get the same denominator but how much times you multiplyed the denominator is how much you'll have to multiply the numerator by. Nicolas ;)

55. what I will do when I multiply two factions is use a array.
when you do not change the denominator the pieces get smaller.
IreneN.

56. What I will do is when I multiply 2 fractions is use a array.
What you don't change the denominator the pieces get smaller.
Iliana M.

57. the pieces will not be equal if they don't have the same denominator Nicolas ;)

58. what I would do in this problem is I would multiply the denominator by the other denominator and so if I multiply 2x5 and the product will be 10 and if you multiply the numerator by the other numerator it will be 1 because 1x1 is 1 so the fraction would be 1/10

(E.L.V)

59. I multiplied the 2 denominators so the equation would look like 2x5 and it would equal 10 then the numerator is 1x1 then that will equal 1 so my answer is 1/10

60. when you are multiplying the denominators don"t have to be the same you could multiply the denominators by the denominators and the numerators by the numerators. i multiplied the one by the one and five times two and my answer was 1/ 10

61. math is fun and it is more fun when we have the best teacher Mrs. Edgerton gl

62. How I know when to change the numerator is if it is a big denominator
(ilianaM;)

63. what I know about adding fraction is that the dinamnator needs to be the same . you can make the dinamanator the same by finding there multupels L.P

64. what if the equation is starting out with the big denominator, what do you do?

1. 1.get the fractions to its lowest term then do what ever you gonna do with the fractions, 2.or still just add, sub. ,multiply, or divide with the big fractoins but its gonna be a BIG denominator for the answer.

65. n.m is right

66. We rocked the tableau our facial expression were good and also I loved Esperanza Rising <3

67. see the factors, and the lowest common factor divide that by the numerator and the denominator then that will reduce it. Nicolas

68. guys, if you go to 2014--15 school year and you go to student work under blog archive it will show you 3 or 4 pictures of some work then go under that and you can write comments, i think there is 1 or 2 comments already there.
Nicolas

69. I would just multiply the numerator and denominator to the other fraction
