The whole program was wonderful and the fifth graders closed the program with two beautiful dances. 

Students are recognized by Fine Arts

Fine Arts teachers select a student to be recognized for their contributions to the Fine Arts program.  Emily was recognized by Dr. Gish for visual arts, Aviana was recognized by Ms. Sun  for her dance and Michael Ray was recognized by Mr. Granger for choral music.   We are very proud of the contributions these students have made to our school.

G.R.E.A.T Program

Thank you to Officer Santa Maria who did a six week course for the students.  Each student received a certificate and a prize for completing the six week course.   

ASU Students visit

The ASU students conferenced with the fifth grade students. 
The fifth graders explained the writing process to the ASU students.

Desayuno con los Escrituros

Our parents started arriving at 7:30 and they quickly settled in and begin listening to their children's stories. It was a real collaboration between students and parents.   Some parents helped with  typing while others listened to the students stories. 





Some students were on their first draft, some were revising, others were editing while some typed their stories. 



Students share their writing pieces with their parents, grandparents and friends.




Parents helped with publishing, listening to stories and they share a good laugh.

 Our families play a critical role in the stories that our students write.   Even the smallest of events can become some of the most vivid stories in our classroom.



 

 

The students act out three characters from Bridge to Terabithia.  One character was angry, one was sneaky and one was as still as a mouse.  Can you tell which is which?

We have many helpers in our classroom.  Today a J.H. student stopped by to help in class.
