This year we started our writing workshop by writing personal narratives.  We've also written an "I am from," poem.  The poem was written in Spanish.  We are now working on comparative essays. Students will share some of their favorite passages from some of their writing projects. Nosotros tratamos de escribir por lo menos tres veces a la semana.  Los estudiantes tomaran tiempo para compartir algunos de sus projectos.

2013-14 School Year

Aviana and Fernanda work together to find the theme and setting of a passage taken from the book Ahmed’s Secret.  Students look for evidence to support their thinking. 

En Español

Los estudiantes trabajan en un experimento.  Hicieron una mezcla de bicarbonato y cloruro de calcio.  Están preparando la mezcla para evaporar y cuando la mezcla se seque quedara una química nueva llamada gis.

The whole program was wonderful and the fifth graders closed the program with two beautiful dances. 

Students are recognized by Fine Arts

Fine Arts teachers select a student to be recognized for their contributions to the Fine Arts program.  Emily was recognized by Dr. Gish for visual arts, Aviana was recognized by Ms. Sun  for her dance and Michael Ray was recognized by Mr. Granger for choral music.   We are very proud of the contributions these students have made to our school.
